About the Village Library
Originally located as a storefront in Casady Square, The Village Library moved to its present location in May of 1990. The building was constructed with funds from a temporary sales tax in the city of The Village, and enjoys strong support from the city and The Friends of The Village Library.
Book drop: West side of building, immediately right of entrance.
Programs
- Adult programs including a monthly Book Discussion Group
- Annual Apple Pie Workshop
- Annual library mystery night
- Annual summer reading program
- Holiday theme programs
- Internet & computer instruction classes
- Neighborhood arts programs
- Reading to Dogs, therapy dogs visit the library twice a week for children to have an opportunity to practice reading aloud
- Special theatrical performances at spring break and during National Children's Book Week in November
- Storytimes other activities for children of all ages
- Teen advisory group
- Young adult programs, including a monthly V-SIFT (Village-Something Interesting For Teens)

- Reference materials for in-library use are interfiled to provide all books on a topic in one location
Village Fair
Each year the Special Friends of the Village Library help host the annual Village Fair. The 2011 Village Fair will take place on May 7th, 2011.
