A Healthier You - Nutrition Event At The Del City Library
Would you like to eat healthier and be healthier?
If your answer to those questions is “Yes!” the Del City Library, 4509 SE 15th, is presenting a program on Tuesday, June 17, from 6:30 to 7:30pm, that can help you get started on the way to a healthier you.
Darrell Eberly, from the Oklahoma State Department of Health Disease and Prevention Service, will be on hand with information about nutrition and healthy eating.
A recent National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, conducted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), found that more than half of American women (50.7 percent) and six in 10 American men (59.4 percent) are overweight or seriously overweight. In another estimate from the NHLBI, nearly 100 million Americans are overweight or obese.
“There’s some argument,” said Del City librarian Sam Weehunt, “about the degree to which being overweight can impact your health, but it just makes sense that the healthier your body is, the better you’ll feel.”
