Holidays Celebrated at Capitol Hill Library

Casa Abierta para las Días de Fiesta!

It’s a Holiday Open House to celebrate the season at the Capitol Hill Library, 334 SW 26th Street.

The Capitol Hill staff invites everyone to drop by on Saturday, December 5 any time between noon and 4pm for the library’s annual welcoming of the holiday season.

“Right after we get finished with Halloween, we start looking forward to this event,” said Phil Tolbert, Manager of Library Operations for Capitol Hill.  “Every December we try to outdo a little what we did the year before, and this time we have some great activities lined up, including the opportunity for the kids to have their pictures taken with the Big Man himself, Santa.”

There will also be a live jazz band, crafts for teens and kids, and lots of prize giveaways.  Time slots for the Santa photos begin a little earlier, starting at 10am and ends at 4pm. This gives everyone a chance for the photo opportunity, but party goers are asked to call the library at 634-6308 to sign up in advance.

“We want to have something planned,” Tolbert added, “even for all the Bah-Humbugs out there.  Everyone’s going to have a good time.”
