Welcome to Buzzreads, the blog that connects Young Adult Literature to the pop culture topics of today!  You may be asking yourself, “Why would I read books written for teens?”  Well, let me help you out with your struggle.  The simple answer, it’s where all the best writing is happening right now!  Check out the latest movies in theaters.  Most of them are based off YA books (*cough* Hunger Games: Mockingjay is coming out this month *cough*)  Even popular adult authors (James Patterson, Harlan Coben, Kelley Armstrong, Candace Bushnell, Kathy Reichs… just to name a few) are writing YA books nowadays.  So let me help you ease into the wonderful world of Young Adult!

Tellabration is a night of storytelling that takes place all over the world every year the week before Thanksgiving. If you think you aren’t a storyteller, think again. Just recently I had the distinct pleasure of telling a young coworker about the time back in ’99 when romance-novel-cover-model Fabio was opening a new roller coaster and was struck in the face by a goose during the ceremonial first ride. (Fabio was all right, by the way. The goose didn’t make it.) Here are some Oklahoma-flavored books to help answer some of these questions, and hopefully spark your interest so that you will want to tell these stories (and your own!) to someone soon.
